What This Covers

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on nivarela.com, which is operated by Datavex Labs Ltd, trading as Nivarela, of Unit A3, Castle Road, Sittingbourne, England, ME10 3EW. A cookie is a small file placed on your device by a website. Some are essential to making a shop work at all; others are optional, and we set those only once you have agreed.

Essential Cookies

A handful of cookies are necessary for the site to function and are set whatever choice you make in the banner, because without them the shop simply would not work. They remember the contents of your basket as you move between pages, keep you signed in to your account, carry your order safely through checkout, protect the site against fraudulent and automated activity, and store the cookie preference you have expressed so that we do not ask you again on every visit. They are not used to build any profile of you.

Analytics Cookies

With your agreement, we use analytics to understand how the shop is used: which pages people visit, how they arrived, where they lose interest, and whether the checkout works smoothly on their device. This tells us what to improve. The information is used in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally. If you decline, the site behaves exactly as it would otherwise; we simply learn less about how to improve it.

Advertising Cookies

Again with your agreement, advertising cookies allow us to measure whether an advert led to a visit or a purchase, and to avoid showing you adverts for something you have already bought. Because we advertise through Google, cookies of that kind may be set by Google on our behalf when you consent. Declining them does not stop you seeing adverts; it means the ones you see are less relevant to you and we cannot measure their effect as precisely.

Cookies Set by Others

Some cookies come from the services that make the shop work rather than from us directly. Our payment provider sets cookies to verify a transaction and detect fraud during checkout, and our analytics and advertising providers set theirs as described above. Those companies process that data under their own privacy policies as well as under our agreements with them.

Changing Your Mind

Your choice is not permanent. Select “Manage Cookies” at the bottom of any page to bring the banner back and make a different selection. You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings, though blocking the essential ones will prevent the basket and checkout from working. Your preference is remembered for twelve months, after which we will ask again.

Questions

How we handle personal data more generally is set out in our Privacy Policy. If anything here is unclear, write to contact@nivarela.com and we will explain.
